At Princeton University, cultural commentator Dinesh D'Souza debates bioethicist and philosopher Peter Singer, one of the most controversial and influential atheists of our time. Having both written on the topic, D'Souza and Singer dispute where and how we find the very foundations of morality. Are they to be found in God? Society? Or something else?
Dinesh D'Souza is a best-selling American author and speaker who has become a front line defender of Christianity. D'Souza is an accomplished debater and former policy analyst in the Reagan administration. One of his most recent publications, What's So Great about Christianity, is a defense of the Christian faith. He is also the author of Life After Death: The Evidence, Illiberal Education, The End of Racism, The Enemy at Home and other books.
Peter Singer is Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University and laureate professor at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, University of Melbourne. He first became well-known internationally after the publication of Animal Liberation. His extremely controversial views on animal rights and other issues in bioethics have received much attention. His other books include Rethinking Life and Death, The Reproduction Revolution, How Are We to Live?, and Should the Baby Live?, among others.
